Precimold Inc. diversifies with
purchase of EJETL Division from Rutter Inc.
CANDIAC, QUÉBEC – Monday July 12th, 2010 –
Precimold Inc., www.precimold.com contract
manufacturer, custom injection molder, and tool
maker of precision medical, electronic and
technical components, has purchased the
specialized Search & Rescue lighting division
EJE Trans-Lite Inc. (EJETL) from one of its
clients Rutter Technologies Inc. for whom it had
been molding all it’s plastic components for the
past 12 years.
EJETL was founded by John E. Brain and Donald
Clarke in Montreal in 1988 as a specialty
lighting company to fill a need for search and
rescue operations and distress situations. It
immediately set-up business in Newfoundland,
dedicated to saving the lives of seamen and
airmen in both the military and civilian
sectors. It quickly developed into the market
leader for the regulated cruise line industry
with its’ patented “Digi-Lite”, which was used
on the majority of onboard life jackets. Since
then it has developed numerous other leading
technology SAR products, and several new
products are currently in the proto-typing and
testing stages. John eventually sold his
ownership in EJETL, but stayed on to continue to
develop new products for Rutter throughout the
years, including the worlds first approved
patented LED light for this market.
On Friday July 9th, after completion of months
of due diligence, Gunter Weiss, President of
Precimold visited Rutter in Newfoundland to
complete the transaction in person. Accompanied
by Daniel Marginson, General Manager of
Precimold, and John Brain who now works for
Precimold as its’ R&D Project Leader, the trio
were eager to add this acquisition to the
growing Precimold portfolio. All manufacturing
and final assembly work will be gradually
transferred to Precimold’s plant in Candiac as
the required regulatory approvals are acquired.
Precision Concepts International Inc. (PCI), a
division of Precimold, will be dedicated to the
sales and marketing of all current and future
products.
